Adam Kennedy has been released by the St. Louis Cardinals. He is a lefty second baseman who can play the corner outfield spots, and has recently played once or twice at SS and 1B.

He seems to be very similar to Mike Fontenot (who might be traded in a Peavy deal, hence our interest in Orlando Hudson). Kennedy should come cheaply since St. Louis has to pay his entire $4,000,000 contract (he fits the mold of a Reed Johnson/Jim Edmonds type cheap signing).

His numbers last year were decent and his three year splits suggest good things. He hits very well at Wrigley. What does everyone think? By the way, Aurilia has officially signed with the Giants according to MLB Trade Rumors.
