The doubleheader for Daytona rained out again today...the whole 3-game series against Vero was washed out. They'll make up one of those 3 games in a doubleheader next Wednesday, the other two will be wiped off the schedule.

Tyler Colvin went 2 for 4 with a double and Welington Castillo went 2 for 3 with a BB. Jose Ceda struck out 3 for a 5-out save. Tenn won 1-0.

Brandon Guyer went 3 for 5 with a double and a homer but Peoria lost.

Aaron Shafer with his second straight strong, scoreless, 1-hit outing: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K. Slumping Drew Rundle went 1 for 5 with a double, Josh Vitters went 2 for 5 with a double, Ryan Flaherty went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and Kyler Burke hit a home run.

Aaron Shafer's last two starts:

8/17 - 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K

8/22 - 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K

It shouldn't be a surprise to see him do well in the NWL given his profile before the draft, but it's nice to see. Especially as Carpenter and Cashner struggle with their control. I hope Shafer will be at Daytona to start next season.

I'm hoping all three will be at Peoria with Josh Vitters. :D

Imo, Cashner and Shafer will start in Daytona, Carpenter and Vitters in Peoria. But that's for another thread.
