Mahay to Phillies close

ESPN.com's Jayson Stark reports that Ron Mahay is on the verge of being traded to the Phillies.

The two clubs have been having extensive talks involving shortstop Jason Donald. Donald has followed his breakout season of 2007 with another nice year at the plate (.308/.388/.509), but projects to have limited range as a shortstop and could be moved to second base.
