New League Proposed Rules

Yearly Keepers: Free agent eligible players can be re-signed at $20,000 times points scored that year.

Arbitration and free agency clock per MLB rules:

Year 1: $1000 per point

Year 2:$2000 per point

Year 3:$3000 per point

Year 4:$10,000 per point

Year 5: $12,500 per point

Year 6:$15,000 per point

>6 years: $20,000 per point

 

 

Off-season salary cap is $50 million. Minor leaguers are free (up to 10). No limit on number of keepers.

 

Draft: Two options here:

1) Auction Style draft

2) Pre-assign player salaries (say $15,000 times previous year points or $10,000 times previous years points but a discounted rate over keeping the player)

 

Total salary cap is $105 million to start season. Probably allow increase of $5 million per month to allow trading or increase based on wins (generated revenue). To discourage huge sell-offs, bonuses for wins could also be awarded.
