IIRC, he's had 3 relief outings, 2 good, 1 awful. I'll dig up the log.

 

Here we go. Looks like the bad one wasn't too awful after all.

He was an awfully good defensive catcher. (Too bad he couldn't hit). I am not surprised that the Cubs are trying him out on the mound. Hopefully we have another Marmol in the making.

 

If he makes it to the majors, he could easily be the third catcher. It would be the first time (that I know of) where a player pitched and caught in one game.

Randy Wells is another former catcher that is having some success.

Jake arrived in Peoria late yesterday...he pitched a great couple of innings in extras for the Chiefs. We're glad to have him back - and it's great to see his stuff looking so good too!
