Greg Maddux had to take one for the team because of this. He got hammered in the first inning and gave up 6 runs but ended up going 7 innings and threw 113 pitches in the game.

I was watching a little bit of that game. It was rather painful to watch as Maddux just didn't have it. But he stayed in there and helped his team eat up some innings.
