The Rangers and Ian Kinsler have reportedly agreed to a five-year, $22 million contract with an option for a sixth season.

If the option is exercised, the deal would be worth $32 million. At this price, it's a terrific signing for the Rangers. Even if the 25-year-old Kinsler doesn't get any better than he is now, he probably would have made $16 million-$18 million in his three arbitration years. The Rangers also get one year of free agency and the option for a second. Kinsler shouldn't have sold himself so cheap, especially when he's in a ballpark that will continue to inflate his numbers.
