John Schuerholz will step aside as general manager of the Atlanta Braves on Thursday after assembling teams that won a record 14 straight division titles and the 1995 World Series championship.

Schuerholz will remain with the team as president, according to the team's Web site. The team planned a news conference at 3:30 p.m.

The move was first reported by FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
