If you were a manager would you consider letting him play in the OF or 1st base a couple of times a week?

Where would you hit him on the days he pitches?

Micah Owings is pretty high on my list of baseball players I'd like to kick in the nuts.

Probably because he told the Cubs to go fly a kite in a thunderstorm when they drafted him.

Why?

The Cubs drafted him and Eric Patterson in the same draft back in 2004. He was taken in the 19th round because of worries about his salary demands. They offered him a sizable amount of money, but instead, he opted to transfer from Georgia Tech to Tulane. I really wanted the Cubs to sign him, but no dice.

I've been bitter since then.

I dunno what they offered, but he was viewed as late first/sandwich/early second material. They should've offered him a million to get it done. I really wanted them to sign him (even if he is an average pitcher, his offense will make him above-average in terms of his overall contributions). Stupid Cobs.
