Just curious...with all this talk of sale, and of how the economics of taking on salary has an effect on this sale, I question whether we are missing something.,..How much does the value of the Cubs go UP if they Win it all or go deep in the playoffs? Say we add 30 mill in payroll for the rest of the year...Doesn't a playoff run increase the value of the franchise by at least 50+?

I actually think winning it all it hurt the value compared to making it to the playoffs or going deep. Thats part of the mystic, and everyone making bids on the franchise wants to be "that guy" who took the Cubs to the World Series and won it. They will be forever loved in Chicago.

woulddnt it be funny that in a rebuilding/transition year with not a real owner we broke through?

The Red Sox want to win as badly now as they did when they won it.
