Mateo Back on DL

The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced that RHP Juan Mateo who spent part of the 2006 season with the Cubs is headed to the 7-day minor league disabled list with a shoulder injury. The move is retroactive to Friday June 8 meaning Mateo can come off the DL on Friday June 15. The Chiefs will add RHP Matt Maradeo from extended spring training.

Saw that coming with his quotes about how his arm didn't feel good after his first start.

 

Maradeo was a senior UDFA signing from a few years ago, he's a side-arming righty who looked good at extended spring training and I figured he'd end up being Boise's closer.
