Ok, I took part in a live draft this morning. It's a Yahoo Public league..

Standard 5x5 roto. 12 teams. I had the 12th pick. I also ended up punting saves. A run on closers caused about seven to go off the board before I could choose one, so I went for dregs there.

Here's how I did:

C- Barrett

1b- Berkman

2b- Kinsler

SS- Tulowitzski

3b- A. Ramirez

OF- Carl Crawford

OF- Dunn

OF- Delmon Young

Util- Frank Thomas

SP- Zambrano

SP- Sheets

RP-Chad Cordero

RP- Zumaya

P- Rich Hill

P- J. Schmidt

P- Prior

Bench-

Ken Griffey - OF

Chad Tracy- 3b

Chuck James- P

Matt Murton- OF

David Weathers- RP

Really good starting pitching, and position players.

Although I'm just not well versed on your middle infielders. What makes you take them? It seems a bit risky, but then I don't even know them.

Also, with Frank and Dunn, I'd be worried about average.

Most of the good SS left the board before I could pick one or they weren't good values when I was picking, so I waited until the end of the draft and gambled on Tulowitzski.

I have Kinsler rated very highly. He plays for Texas which is a great hitters park and think he could be a 20/20 guy with a 280+ avg. He was under-rated by Yahoo's system and was able to take him late in the draft. Personally, I think he could be a top 5 2b for fantasy purposes. DeRosa is still available if Kinsler doesn't pan out.

I really like DeRosa as a candidate for the bench. He's almost surely gonna get playing time and he eligible at 2B, 3B, and OF.

But I'll have to take your word on Kinsler. Do you have any scouting reports or projections to back that one up?

Last year, Kinsler hit .286 with 14 HR and 11 SB in only 423 AB for the Rangers.

Pecota projects him to 21 HR and 11 SB with a 285 avg. With the rest of my team, that will fit just fine.

Bill James sees him as hitting 20 HR, 15 SB, .269/.330/.445

Thanks for the heads up on a really nice sleeper. Good call.

I still think you'll lose in average every week though.

It's roto scoring, so I'm not worried about H2H. I think I have a good chance of scoring in the top 3-4 in HR, RBI, W, K, and ERA. My WHIP will be in the mid range as will by runs and SB. SV and AVG will be in the lower half.
