Rankings:

#37 2006 Cape Cod League - PG Crosschecker (9/20/06)

#9 2006 Cape Cod League - Baseball America (8/25/06)

#9 2006 College Sophomore - Baseball America (2/6/07)

#182 2005 Draft Prospects - Baseball America

The top freshman pitching prospect on the Cape, Hunt led the league in strikeouts (54 in 40 innings) and held opponents to a .147 average. He operates with two plus pitches, a low-90s fastball with explosive late life and a hard curveball. If he improves his control and changeup, he could be a first-round pick in 2008.

"That was the best curveball I saw all summer," Brewster manager Bob Macaluso said. "When he throws it, forget it."

After seeing limited action his freshman year at Virginia, Hunt made his mark in the Cape this

summer. He led the league with 54 strikeouts in 40 innings, while going 3-0, 3.38. He walked 30, second in the league.

Hunt features a low 90s fastball with great life and sharp curveball that grades out as a plus pitch. He is still raw in terms

of pitchability, but should see a lot more time on the mound this coming spring after transferring to Tulane.

Hunt slipped behind Vince Mazzaro because not only was Mazzaro throwing his fastball harder more consistentlym but Hunt is also considered much touher to sign—particularly if he continues to be viewed as a fifth- to eighth-round talent. He would probably need to go in the top five rounds to justify the kind of bonus that would steer him away from Virginia. Through his first 44 innings, he was 7-0, 0.95 with eight walks and 88 strikeouts. With a 90-91 mph fastball that touches 92, Hunt has good arm strength. It’s a tick or two slower than Mazzaro’s, but Hunt generally holds his deeper into games. He also has a solid curveball but below-average command of a slider and changeup. Hunt has an excellent feel for his craft at a young age, not surprising because his father Mickey was his high school coach.

Maybe we can all find information on one player once a week from old scouting reports and the such. By the end of the summer we'll know quite a bit.

Rankings:

#1 High School 2008 Class - Baseball America (1/30/07)

#1 High School 2008 Class - Baseball America Plus (11/29/06)

#2 California Underclass 2007 Showcase - Perfect Game (1/20/07)

Across the country in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., junior outfielder Isaac Galloway is creating his own legacy. The No. 1 ranked junior in the country by BA's Prospects Plus, Galloway was a home run shy of the cycle in four at-bats with three stolen bases and four runs in an early season victory for Los Osos High. "He's a gift, a really special player," said coach Anthony Vasquez, who also coached big leaguer Mike Sweeney at Ontario (Calif.) High. "He's actually a lot better (than Sweeney was) at the same age."
Isaac Galloway is a 2008 OF with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Rancho Cucamonga CA, who attends Los Osos HS. Selected as a Top 10 Prospect. Plus body, strong and well-proportioned, looks like a big leaguer, moves with graceful power, plus bat speed, short to the ball, excellent plate coverage, ball spins plus at contact, drives ball to all fields, high average hitter with power, hands work free and easy, runs well, has all the tools, one of nation's top prospects, did not participate in workout due to a period of inactivity, we have seen the plus defensive tools at other events.
Galloway hadn’t played much baseball in the last month or so, but even a bit out of baseball shape it is clear that his combination of power, speed, and ease with which he plays rates with the top players in the nation. He has big league tools.
Though he has not done much in the way of baseball for the last month or so, Los Osos HS outfielder Isaac Galloway showed that he has physical ability that rivals any player in the '08 class. He glides effortlessly and powerfully as a runner and possesses plus bat speed, has easy power and a big time arm.
