Can you go over the rules again?

How many IP or AB is considered one year?

Is the exemption for the third year (2 years completed) or the fourth year (3 years completed)?

How do we treat injured players at the end of the year?

Do we identify the minor leaguers as keepers or just the players under 1800 points?

Thanks.

Can you go over the rules again?

Absolutely!

How many IP or AB is considered one year?

I use the same rules for rookie elibility as MLB (minus the time on roster criteria). The criteria are:

Eligibility requirements were set forth in 1971 and a rookie was formally defined as a player with less than one-hundred thirty at-bats, a pitcher with less than fifty innings pitched, or anyone with less than forty-five days on any Major League roster.

Is the exemption for the third year (2 years completed) or the fourth year (3 years completed)?

Each player gets three exemption years. So the year they exceed the rookie numbers from above is year one. They then have two remaining exemptions. So if I understand your question above, it is the three years completed option. If you have any questions on a player, just post them here and I'll answer.

How do we treat injured players at the end of the year?

There is no injured list in the offseason.

Do we identify the minor leaguers as keepers or just the players under 1800 points?

The minor league roster is separate, but the players must still be short of the above criteria to be stashed on a minor league roster.

Thanks.

No sweat!

Also, where do we find the points to use for the 1,800 limit?

The stats function on sportsline.

Tim, do we have to select all of our non 1800 still protected due to the three year rule?

Ie, I have Hanley Ramirez, and I'm supposed to keep him, but I don't know if I have to select him as a keeper or if sportsline will automatically allow me to carry him over.

Stats and then what? 2006 totals and standard scoring?

pick your team and then 2006 totals.

I hope someone can help guide me through this. I am completely lost with the keeper rules

No worries...

Your exempt players are:

Cano

Youkilis

Uggla

Bedard

Bush

Saito

Saunders

Your minor league players are:

Denorfia

Bell

this link shows you what each keeper is going to cost. You can keep up to 1800 points, with the exempt players not costing you any points.

btw - Hairston exceeded rookie qualifications a long time ago and ended up in the majors.

So I selected my keepers (Sheets, KRod, Tex, and Santana) in addition to all my exempt players (Hanley, Franceour, Francis, McCarthy, Volquez, Anibal Sanchez, Delmon, Kinsler, Freddy Sanchez (I think he's exempt, didn't get any real AB's until 05... though I could be wrong on this one), Wang and it is still telling me my roster is illegal? I'm a tad confused. I figured I'd select my keepers and then I'd have a new screen with all the players I've kept instead of this illegal roster stuff... Will this change on February 21st?

Just curious...

Also: say we have 25 keepers (including Minor League) like I have, are we going to be drafting round by round like normal until rosters are fill? (ie mine will probably be full in 10 rounds)
