Did you set up a Y! account for like DSL service or did you just go to Yahoo.com and register an email account? If the former, I don't know what you did or how to help. If you just set up an email account, you should be able to sign in anywhere you have internet access. Given your errors messages, it sounds like the former, which could be a problem.

 

If you can't get this resolved, I don't know what to tell you. The Commissioner (me, for this league) can add/drop players for other teams and edit their rosters (but not make trades), which I'm happy to do once in a while, but I don't think it'll work for the entire season.

 

The only options I can think of are a) delete this league, create another one, have everyone sign up there, and I'd have to enter the draft results as if we had an offline draft, or b) hope you resolve this issue or just let your team sit idle all season. Someone else see another resolution?

isn't there some way to reassign a team to a new yahoo id? If he creates a new account, I would think there would have to be a way to make this swap. In fantasy overall, I would guess it would be typical to have keeper leagues where you need to swap folks out, or you just have someone not keeping things up...

As far as I can tell, once you've had the draft, all the managers are locked in. If you are in a league that hasn't had its draft yet, you'll see on the league page that you can delete your team if you want. If we hadn't had the draft yet, we could delete New Era's team and he could create a new account and join the league again. But once the draft happens, you can't delete your team and it can't be deleted by the commissioner either (I think in public leagues, Y! will step in and lock your team if you're misbehaving - that happened to one of the teams in one of my fantasy hoops leagues this year and the commissioner of a private league can lock managers or make roster edits for another team - add/drops & move starters to the bench and vice versa).

 

As for keeper leagues, from what I can tell in Y!, you don't actually keep the team on Y!'s system. It's something the commissioner would have to keep track of separately and at the start of each season, each team probably drafts its keepers in the first rounds (so if each team had 3 keepers, the first 3 rounds would be each team selecting those keepers and the real draft of the rest of the players would start at round 4). I'm in a keeper basketball league, but this is the first season, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I don't think my team is going to be held over by Y!'s system.

 

If anyone has any ideas other than the 2 I posted earlier, let me know. Maybe New Era can email Y! and ask to have the team transferred to another Y! account or something. I don't really want the team to sit idle b/c that will skew the results for everyone else. So if New Era can't have the team transferred, we'll probably have to re-create the league.

I'm going to call Yahoo tommorow, they left a phone # at that webpage, so I can call them on my cell phone and get them to help me. There's gotta be something they can do to help me keep my old UN. Because I had it, BEFORE I signed up to SBC a long, long time ago.

Why I'm reading the problems of some other fantasy league, I do not know. However, the guy who's ID is locked can create a new ID and the commish can email yahoo to get the old ID switched with the new one. One of my dynasty leagues has had to do this multiple times because of people quitting and being inactive.

They said they'll beable to do it. But it will take the "engineers" 12-48 hours. LOL.

Yes and today is the first scoring day. You don't have to have your lineup full and you can intentionally keep guys out of the lineup.

yes, and (hopefully like hockey) you can bench guys when they're not playing and put someone else in at that position, so you can have (theoretically) a different lineup every day. For instance, if you know that one of your SP won't be starting that day, you can leave him on the bench for someone else. Not that my lineup is any great shakes at this point, but I've got them set through Friday so feel free to take a look. This won't be as important later in the year, when just about every team is playing just about every day, but I would guess that since April generally has more rain dates built into it, it could end up making a difference early.

Right. And if you click ahead (usually up to 2-3 days), your probable pitchers will have that too, so you can plan ahead a few days.

You're KMacCurve, right? If so, you don't have to bench guys that aren't scheduled to play that day. If you want to replace a guy that isn't playing that day with someone that is playing, do that. But if you only have a few guys with games scheduled or scheduled to pitch on a certain day, it doesn't hurt you to have them sitting in your starting lineup. It's not a big deal, but if you bench a guy every time he isn't scheduled to play, it's a lot more work than you need to be doing and you might forget to change it (or have something come up and not be able to change it) and miss games by some guys.

 

I'd recommend putting guys from your bench in for your normal starters whenever you want, but I wouldn't clear out guys that aren't playing/pitching.
