QB Decision

Help. I'm not sure quite what to do. I've got a choice between Michael Vick against Cincinati's defense, or Drew Brees against Baltimore. Prior to Vick and Crumpler going postal last week, Brees was actually right on par with him, and even outscored him a couple times.

 

My initial feeling is to go with Vick, because he may be able to run for about 8000 yards against Cinci's run defense. But I want to hear some of your views on this.

I'm interested to hear the responses too.. I also have Brees. I have Damon Huard who I was going to start over him but he got injured thursday in practice so now I don't know what to do.. If I was you, i'd probably start Vick, Baltimore is top 6 or 7 in pass defense.

Never start Damon Huard over Drew Brees. Brees is an every week guy. Also over a guy like Vick.

I have Vick, too, as well as Grossman. I'm starting Vick to ride the hot hand, but I don't have a lot of faith. He is the most frustrating player I've had- he can flat out go off (in our league, q.b. rushing t.d.'s count double) or he can put up a goose egg.

 

I'm barely keeping my head above water in my league, so I am gonna go with Vick and hope to get lucky and get back in the points race.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and start Vick just because Brees is facing Baltimore, a team that already has approx. 394 picks this season. I'm just going to hope Vick can run all over the cinci defense. plz vick.

I would start Vick. Fantasy football is all about matchups. I have the Broncos D, but I picked up K.C.'s D just for this week. I'm thinking Seneca Wallace and Maurice Morris shouldn't do too much against them, but I could be wrong.

Edit: I didn't see the date of the original post until now, but I believe that, once again, it would make sense to start Vick over Brees this week. My original response below.

I couldn't disagree more.

 

Brees may have a great game this week, but if you look at probabilities, Vick is a no-brainer for week 10.

 

Brees is going up against the Pittsburgh defense, which is #5 in DVOA against the pass and #3 in overall defensive DVOA. There's a long list of QB's I start ahead of Brees this week.

 

I believe in playing matchups. There are very few every-week starters, and by my standards, Brees isn't one of them.
