Ryne Sandberg coaching Eric Patterson into becoming a perennial all-star would perhaps be the greatest thing I've ever experienced as a sports fan.

Ryan being part of the Cubs team in any way while the Cubs won the world series. Now THAT, would be the greatest thing.

Harvey or Theriot?

Ryne Sandberg and Ryan Theroit would be good.

So would Sandberg.

Why is everybody picking on me today? I can spell Piniella right! (thanks serena).

Is it me, or is Ryno being "rumored" to be the next 1st base coach strictly a PR move? I mean, Girardi was the people's choice for manager, and yet Hendry went with Piniella. So, I'm thinking to appease the fans for missing out on Girardi, they would hire Sandberg as first base coach/PR move. Because let's face it...how many "HOFers" are coaching 1st base in the majors?

Besides, isn't possible that the Cubs will have a better middle infield sitting in the dugout next yr, then on the field (Sandberg/Trammell .v. Izzy/Theriot.)?

The Mississippi Leg Hound sends the runner home and he scores!!!!

All that's left is the hitting and 1st base coaches, correct? So far I'm pretty happy with the staff Lou has assembled.

Even the pitching coach?

My guess is Ryno asked to be on the staff as a way for him to get his future managerial career going and the Cubs were happy to oblige him because it is good PR for the team.

Is he really being asked?
