What's the record for most RPs added during a season that have had essentially no effect on a team winning a race (either division or WC)? I'm thinking the Reds with 4 has to be up there.

I guess if you're a Reds fan you just have to be happy that they didn't give up Dunn for a couple middle relievers. After the Lopez/Kearns deal, that had to be Reds fans' worst nightmare.
