I'd see about sending one of our better P prospects for one of the 3. And remember, the Cubs have drafted Bobby Brownlie and Ben Christensen, and strongly pursued Furcal this winter, so it's not like they've always hung up on charachter.

What character issues did Brownlie have? I remember health issues, but not character.

 

Maybe I'm imagining this, but didn't he holdout and reenter the draft after refusing to sign with someone?

He held out for awhile after being drafted by the Cubs and talked about returning to school for his final year of eligibility, but he signed with the Cubs without returning to class.

 

Okay, then I was imagining it. Being on the same sleeping schedule as a 10 day old really messes with your memory!

A girl named Ryan? It may be a bit unorthodox, but Ryan Alicia is a beautiful name. Congratulations.

 

BTW, we are into unorthodox names in our household. Bailey's middle name is Suu. And no that's not a typo. Eleanor's middle name is Cady. The unusual spellings aren't just for fun. Both are names of female world leaders.

Earlier this year, I criticized Z on this board for failing to step up and truly become an elite pitcher. After sitting at Wrigley today and watching him beat the Cards without nearly his best stuff really showed me (along with his 12-3 record) that he's taken his game to the next level. So, he's untouchable now. (So are D-Lee and A-Ram IMO)
