Here's the real question. Did you do a fantasy draft to start the season? If you didn't how many Cubs players do you still have?

Its my first year - The lineup is pretty much like the real Cubs:

CF Pierre

2B Walker

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

RF Jones

LF Nevin for lefties/Murton for righties

C Michael Barrett

SS Cedeno for lefties/Russ Adams for rigties

Starting Staff:

Prior

Wood

Z

Maddux

Rusch

Bullpen:

Williamson

Howry

Eyre

Dempster (closer)

Wuertz

Williams (jerome)

Ohman

Bench:

Blanco

Mabry

Nevin/Murton

Cedeno/Adams

Womack (he's good in MVP)

Neifi and Bynum are in Iowa :P

better than I do when I play games, I either just do a fantasy draft or trade almost the entire team as they infuriate me during the season. Prior was gone in MLB '06 the Show for me as soon as he was injured in Spring Training. Woody went soon after.

In my fantasy world of MVP, the Cubs win the Division in 06. The NLCS in 07, and the WS in 08. They play the twins in the WS in 07 and 08.

Juan Pierre wins the 06 and 07 MVP. He wins the 08 WS MVP.

Prior wins the 97 Cy Young Z wins in 08

Wood leaves after 06.

Brad Wilkerson is had in mid 06 for Scott Williamson and Wade Miller

Willy Mo Pena is a 07 FA pick up for cheap.

Brandon Wood is picked up on early 06 for Jerome Williams. Wood starts in 07 and 08, winning the 07 ROY.

Scott Kazmir is picked up in exchange for Ronny Cedeno.

Brandon Webb is picked up in exhange for Rich Hill.

For 2009, Felipe Lopez is picked up via FA.

The 09 Lineup:

Pierre CF

Lopez 2b

Lee 1b

Pena LF

Wilkerson RF

Wood SS

Ramirez 3b

Barrett C

Zambrano

Marshall

Prior

Kazmir

In OOTP I have had a run of 2007 to 2010 WS winners. But this was back in 5 in a solo league.

Farnsy was the closer. Wood, Prior, Zambrano, and Cruz were the horses. Other than ARam, I had Choi at 1st, Kendall behind the plate, I cant remember who my middle IF was. But they were OBP guys with very good gloves. OF was homegrown for the most part. All three OF positions together posted 80 HR and 200 steals with a 350ish OBP years in that stretch.

After the 2010 season the payroll went through the roof and I had to let position players go. I ran that solo league for 20 years and went back to the WS 5 times but never won it again. Prior and Wood had 10 Cy Youngs between them and Z had 2.

Arent fantasy worlds sweet?

I'm up 3-0 on the Yanks in MVP 05

Maybe it will cheer me up.

Unlike many here, I still passionitely (sp?) root for the Cubs so the losses still hurt.

Trust me, you'll lose the next 4 in a row.

WRONG!!

I trailed 3-1 early on but kept pecking away and went ahead 5-3 on a 3 run HR by Aram. Demp nailed down te save after I got an insurance run on an RBI double by Walker. 7-4 final.

Greg Maddux gets the win

For some reason, Greg Maddux getting the win just seems so fitting. It just seems like a great reward for his great career.
