They make him amazing in MVP 05

I once went 6-6 with him (the cycle and 3 HRS).

Granted it may have been an easy level at the time, but even now in harder levels they give him way to much red zone.

side-note to all womack-bashers: Why not call him up? Nothing else is working... might as well se what happens. Maybe he will be a pleasant surprise.

honestly, i worry that if he gets called up (I mean when) he will hit like .270 and maybe come up with a few "key" hits at some point and the Cubs will think he's primed for a great season in 2007 and bring him back. :pukel:

PECOTA projects him at .287/.311/.598. His 90th percentile is .304/.337/.641. He can play multiple defensive positions, but he plays none very well.

He's projected to be out of baseball entirely by next year.

He'll produce at the same level as a minor leaguer who would be paid the league minimum. At least with a minor leaguer, there's a chance for development. With Womack, there is no upside.

A pleasant surprise would be if management found themselves a clue and went out and got actual baseball players.

If Womack comes in and has a decent season, the team is still going to suck. But they are just more likely to sign him to a god awful extension that just furthers handicaps the team.

The only thing I find funny about Tony Womack is that he's still employed in a baseball capacity.

Tony Womack in a Cubs uniform isn't funny its just another reminder of how bad this team is.

And to pour a little fuel on your fire, remember that Womack is actually better than Neifi. Yes, the Neifi that we're stuck with for 2 years.

Yep, and here I was thinking Neifi and Womack were the same person.

Woe is me.

For $5M. But yes, Womack has a good chance to be a Neifi redux.
