I spoke with Dave Jojola, Assistant GM for the Jaxx, earlier and asked for a picture of the upcoming Jaxx motorcycle themed jerseys. The jerseys will be worn and auctioned on May 20th as part of a special fundraiser.

Diamond Jaxx to Host Chyanne Scott Tribute Featuring a Motorcycle Jersey Auction

Date Posted: 5/18/2006

Chyanne Scott was a little girl from right here in Jackson who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at only seven months old. Her disease was compounded later in life when it was discovered that she suffered from brain cancer as well. Though she was small in stature, Chyanne had a huge impact on the lives of many west Tennesseans in her brief three years on this earth. As a tribute to both Chyanne and her family, the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx will be holding several events this week in memory of Chyanne.

On Friday, May 19th, players will be present at an autograph luncheon held at the Old Country Store. The Jaxx players will be wearing the special motorcycle themed jerseys that will be featured in Saturday night’s “Shirt Off Our Back Jersey Auction” which will benefit the Chyanne Scott Foundation. Fans wishing to meet the Jaxx should plan to be at the Old Country Store between 12:00pm and 1:00pm.

Prior to the Saturday, May 20th, game between the Jaxx and the Mobile BayBears, the parking lot of Pringles Park will host a pre-game event featuring an Ambulance, a Fire Truck, the Blood Mobile, the Air Evac Helicopter, Dande Jumpers, and a remote broadcast by Rock 92.3. Families are encouraged to attend the event which will serve as a prelude to that evening’s ballgame. Admission is free, and snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. The event begins at 2:00pm and will conclude by 5:00pm.

In addition, Bumpus Harley-Davidson will be conducting a Memorial Bike Ride in memory of Chyanne Scott. Riders will leave from Bumpus Harley-Davidson and embark on an approximately one and a half hour bike ride which will end with a lap around the field at Pringles Park. Registration for the ride starts at 3:00pm at Bumpus Harley- Davidson and the ride starts around 4:30pm.

During the evening’s ballgame, which begins at 7:05pm, the Jaxx will be wearing special, motorcycle themed jerseys as a tribute to Chyanne Scott. Fans will have a chance to bid on the jerseys during the game in a “Shirt Off Our Back Jersey Auction.” All the proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Chyanne Scott Foundation.

Fans are encouraged to come out and help the Jaxx honor a very special girl, Chyanne Scott. The evening promises to be both memorable and enjoyable for all.

I'm loving the flame jersey and I hope to get one. I love the theme jersey nights for charity. Not only do you get a cool souvenir, you get to help a worthy cause. It'll be very easy to drop some cash tomorrow night. Here's an article from the Jackson Sun.

Is this the last of the jersey auctions, or will there be another one?

This is the only scheduled auction that I know of for the remainder of the season. There could be something else in the works, but nothing finalized.
