Daytona Beach News-Journal[/url]"]Wright, the fourth pitcher used by the Dodgers in the 4-hour, 7-minute marathon, had every reason to be careful pitching to Fox with the bases loaded. The Cubs catcher has been dialed in all season and was responsible for Daytona's other two runs with solo homers in the second and fourth innings.

"I had two strikes and was ready to shorten up my swing and then the pitch went behind me," Fox said. Fox's sixth and seventh home runs of the season put him in a tie for the Florida State League lead and also gave him the team lead in homers and RBIs (19).

He went 2-for-4 with two intentional walks, putting his season average at .344 (third-highest in the FSL).

"I gotta show people I don't belong here," said Fox, who also played in the High-A league last season. "I'm focused. I wanted to have a big day. I didn't expect it was going to be 14 innings in one game though."
