Mauer vs. Barrett

I need to trade one of my catchers in an autodraft league. ....Thoughts on which one to keep?

 

Home Runs, Runs Batted In, Batting Average, Stolen Bases, Runs Scored

 

 

I'm leaning towards keeping Mauer, but I thought I'd ask around since OBP is not a metric being used.

Keep Mauer.

 

Barrett is a great catcher...in NL only leagues. Otherwise he's just mid-pack offensively.

 

Mauer is in line for a break out year. Last year (just so-so for him) was on par with Barrett's break out year. Barrett will improve, but not even close to as much as Mauer will.

 

 

Also, having Jones in front of Mauer will hurt his RBI chances, as Jones's OBP is horrible.

Well obviously Mauer is better than Barrett, but you aren't going to get much for Barrett but you will for Mauer. Because of that, I'd probably trade Mauer. You can probably get a stud pitcher or outfielder or whatever it is you need. I think that is more valuable than the difference in stats you'd be getting from keeping Mauer over Barrett.
