Has anyone been to some games down there?

Just by looking at the limited stats, it looks like Murton got started hot and cedeno cold, wonder what they're ST will look like come three weeks from now.

Anyone see something they like at the games?

I went this past Friday (7-6 win over Los Angeles of Anaheim). What stuck out the most about that game was all the base clogging :D . The Cubs took eight walks in the game, including four in a row with two out in the bottom of the 1st to score their first run.

Yeah, offensively they seem to be better than expected so far. Of course it's just ST. It's nice to see the run production and baserunners so high. That's withougt Lee and Barrett.

Today's game was one of the worst played games I've ever seen (with the exception of Felix Pie).

Lots of dropped balls, misplayed flies, and several botched runs (Cedeno taking off for second before the pitcher even started his motion, then Walker taking of for home).

That was a smart play by Walker. With two outs and Cedeno caught dead to rights between 1st and 2nd, it was worth the gamble. He would have been stranded had they got Ronny anyway.

Cedeno has really been playing like crap, in the field, on the basepaths (when he can get there), and with the bat.

Bob Brenly was talking about how in that situation, Walker is supposed to leave for home plate as soon as the first baseman has the ball and is occupied with the runner in the run-down, and it appeared he left just a bit late.

I've always wondered why managers never used the double steal like that on purpose, one guy moving to second, catcher throws to 2B to get him, runner on 3rd already headed home.

It works in high school, not the majors.

It'd work against the Cubs.

Dude, they've worked on fundamentals, and Dusty's teams have never been bad at fundamentals. (nor have they ever gone home in early October, or have communication problems, or have bad clubhouses, or been unprofessional morons)
