Holy cripes, I thought the Dodgers were in a budget crunch, was that not the talk all fall and through the Tracy and DePodesta firings? Now they're signing EVERYONE.

Industry sources told the Arizona Republic that Kenny Lofton has agreed in principle to a deal with the Dodgers.

But he never played for the Red Sox. Lofton will probably be the Dodgers' center fielder against right-handers, pushing J.D. Drew back to right field. As things stand now, Jason Repko and later a healthy Jayson Werth would platoon with him. However, a Reggie Sanders signing could make Jose Cruz Jr. the center fielder against left-handers. Lofton's signing also figures to push Bill Mueller down to the sixth or seventh spot in the order. Dec. 19 - 1:27 am et
