Marte was likely the 5th option out of their pen, which says something about how good their pen could be.

 

You have Jenks, Hermy, Politte, Cotts, and either Hernandez/McCarthy (if I was a Sox fan, I'd be clamoring for McCarthy) ahead of Marte, they did miss out on Myers though.
