I'm starting to get less and less accepting of Hendry's offseason.

Don't tell me you were expecting a good one from him.

Actually, yes I was. Last year was bad because he was handcuffed.

This year had a legimitate chance of being decent - at least with trades.

I want this to not be true, so...do we have confirmation?

No confirmation, but here's the latest from Rotoworld:

Milton Bradley - OF - Dodgers

Milton Bradley could be on his way to the A's for right-hander Kirk Saarloos and left-hander Mario Ramos.

Rumors are floating that it's a done deal. The A's official site says only that the team has offered Saarloos and another player to the Dodgers for Bradley. If the A's get Bradley, they could play Nick Swisher at first base and use Dan Johnson as a DH. Another option would be to trade Jay Payton or Mark Kotsay and continue to pursue a designated hitter. Damn, I knew the all you can eat buffet at the Winter Meetings was a bad thing. Hendry, get off your butt and do something.

He is. He's working through another 3 dozen popcorn shrimp.

Though I would take Kotsay, but I don't think we have anyone Beane likes. All our players suck too much.

This is just crazy. This offseason has the makings of a worse disaster than last year.

Yeah because there have been so many deals going down, Hendry is obviously doing nothing while everyone else is dealing on the first day...

He is locked up in his hotel room ordering pizza and renting movies.

thanks for doing something smart finally, a's

A's are getting prepared for a playoff push while the Cubs are preparing for 5th place in the division.

Honestly are you just going to say the exact same thing in every post?

For crying out loud it's December 5th and the first day of the winter meetings. It's not like he hasn't been talking to anyone. Multiple sources have reported interest/talks for Pierre, Wilkerson, Bradley, Lugo, Huff, Kearns, Dunn through trades.

How about we at least let the next couple of days play out before proclaiming that Jim is doing nothing but sitting on his butt. Good Lord.

This article implies that Bradley is still available.

It mentions A's, Cubs and Pirates as those pursuing Bradley.

The teams known to have pushed most aggressively for Bradley are the Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs.

I like seeing that, but it's likely that article was written sometime this afternoon or early evening.

Not much hope anymore. Actually, I think Hendry is talking on the phone but nobody wants to make a deal with him. He missed out on Furcal. Bradley is gone now. Giles is gone. The players available are diminishing and the Cubs' offense as it stands right now has several holes in the lineup and to add the cherry on top it looks as though Neifi might be an everyday starter for this team? There's more hope for misery than there is for success.

In an article posted only one hour ago, the A's on web page mentions a deal has been offered, but not accepted.

Right, but think about the source. It was written for a Pittsburgh newspaper. If it was posted online at around 11:00 their time. This rumor broke around 11:00 their time.

For a story like that, I'm sure he had everything ready to be turned in by 9:00 their time if not earlier.

No, the Pittsburgh article was posted 15 mins ago. The one only one hour ago is on the A's front page written by their equivalent to Carrie Muskat.
