  1. SO, do you guys think Baker told Hendry to acquire this guy or has Hendry just lost it and doesn't realize there are other positions on the field?
  2. This team sucks from top to bottom. Where did we find these clowns?
  3. I'm fine with Wood's outing today (though I wish it had gone another inning or so). He looked very good aside from the homers of course. But if the offense doesn't improve, Wood won't matter. Not trying to be glib, but should we care how he looks or what the results are? Giving up 3 HRs in 5 innings isn't good, even if he struck out 15 batters. That's always been the problem with KW No...no it hasn't. And yes, considering the amount of time he's been gone, this is like opening day for him. As I recall, Z wasn't too sharp on opening day, and he's doing fine now. KW's problem has been walks. So the occasional homer or hit scored runs. 2 of the 3 homers were solo. Considering everything, I'm not concerned about Kerry. I'm concerned about the lineup. With the loss of velocity, I'm concerned. Isn't velocity the last thing to come back after shoulder surgery? I'm not sure, but I look at some others whom had the surgery and they never got it back like M. Morris.

  5. Come on guys, who didn't see it coming. A scrub pitcher who gets rocked by all other teams goes against the Cubs and shuts them down and makes the players look silly.
  6. One of my friends from college had Wood for a last name. That line never got old. Ever. Even better, his sister married a guy whose last name was tree. No joke. That doesn't happen every day. :)
  7. You know considering Walker hasn't really played that many games at 1B he does a heck of a job. Neifi had a nice defensive play too.
  8. Bynum earnign his paycheck!! First career homer! haha
  9. Just got in. GOod to see Marshall pitching an excellent game. He should be done for the night.
  10. MacPhail has stated that he would never pay top dollar money for the top FA's available. When I hear that I think to myself, "and people wonder why we are always signing the mediocre players." That is the type of philosophy you do not want your organization to have.
  11. Actually, I do put the blame on Hendry and Dusty because Hendry is the one brining in these clowns to play for the Cubs and overpaying them to do it on top of it. Baker is the worst manager in the majors and he's the manager for the Cubs because Hendry hired him too. Make no mistake, Hendry is to blame for this mess. With the payroll he's had since offseason 2004 he has no excuse not to make a winner out of this team.
  12. Excellent article and on point with what most of us think is wrong with the Cubs.
  13. While I agree that throwing a ball at one of the players is never justified, Jones has been terrible running the bases. How many times did he have blunders like this while he was playing for the Twins? Are the lack of fundamentals and blunders attributed to the coaching staff because this is getting ridiculous. Baker doesn't hold anybody accounted for and I think that's the biggest problem. JJones should be benched today. Give him time to think about his mistakes, punish these guys, do something damn it!! And then they wonder why we boo them. The booing is well deserved IMO. Phillies have no problem signing free agents and their fans are the worst so I don't want to hear that crap that free agents won't sign here. That's exactly the same BS Baker said a couple years ago when he was supposedly getting calls from players asking him if Wrigley was that bad.
  14. Bynum LF Perez SS Walker 1B Jones CF Mabry RF Hairston 2B Theriot 3B Blanco C Rusch P For a second I thought this was Dusty's actual lineup. :)
  15. Did you intentionally leave JP and his sub-.270 OBP out of the list of "killers"? the expectations around him weren't too high, so didn't feel like lumping w/ with the manager, 2 starters and aram. I disagree. The expectations of Pierre were failry high considering we needed him to get on base. i should have been more specific. i meant nsbb expections. jwilliams had some pretty big expectation here. i was one of those who thought he'd have a good season. pierre was expected to suk, but not this bad. At least from what I can remember most people on NSBB expected a .350 OBP from Pierre. Pierre has been a huge problem as to why we have been sucking it up.

  17. I'm tired hearing about past performances too.
  18. I hate it when people point to other teams who got hot and did something. Past success is no indicator of future performance, especially when you keep pointing to other teams in different situations.
  19. He said the same thing in this morning's Trib, and no one called him out on it. Rogers even endorsed Baker. Just shows you how clueless some people are. Baker doesn't deserve being endorsed and Hendry is lucky because he works for this organization or else he would be out of a job already.
  20. Both players just got back from injury.
  21. They are dancing because MLB has guaranteed contracts unlike the NFL.
