    If Ramirez could go to arbitration this off season, all the Cubs would have to do is pop a tape in the VCR showing that lack of hustle. There really is no excuse for it, if I was the manager he would be benched right away.

    If we are going to go with young arms next year I for one hope we sign Maddux again for next year. I think he keeps the kids stable. maddux is about done. deal him off to a contender for a prospect and let him finish out his great career in a pennant chase. i proposed maddux, williamson & hill for joel guzman in the transaction forum. Agreed, Maddux is done for too and if we sign him to a 1 year deal I will be dissapointed.

    Last year in the pen he was still pitching 97-98 MPH. This year he's been at around 90-91. That's not going to cut it in the pen. i thought he was throwing it 94-95 a few outings ago?? since he's starting, he may be trying to conserve himself. put him in the pen and he can air it out for an inning. Come on man, it's time to admit that Wood is done.

    Don't forget that Wood went on the DL for the exact same thing as last year and even with surgery he is having the exact same problems. 10GS last year 4GS this year. Wood is done for, and is back where he belongs, the DL.
