Agreed. If Cherry starts to stink it up we can bring in someone else, but he's looked good.

Exactly. I'm frankly sick of it. He's getting paid for what again? To be on the DL? He used to be my favorite pitcher but his injuries have derailed his career. I won't lose sleep if he was traded or released. I'm sick of the DL posse and the lack of innings they can give us.

What's stupid is leaving this injury prone guy on this team. He's always injured. Watch, he'll come back for 2 weeks and then go back on the DL again.

How many innings pitched has Kerry Wood had the past couple of years? Not many. This guy is always injured. I'd rather have a reliable arm in the pen over the man who always gets hurt.

I know that Wood came up our system and was drafted by us. He is also the longest tenured Cub. With all that said, it's time to cut our loses with him and finally move on without him. His injury prone body has no place with us anymore.

That's what the radar on TV was saying. Why are you confused? Because I'm listening on Gameday Audio and following this thread (no TV), and there was talk of him being in the mid to high 80's. Guess he's warmed up now. Yeah, that was the first inning. He kicked the velocity up in the second, third, and fourth innings. Kinda makes you wonder if he was holding back a bit.

Me too. He looked good and had some nice curves for K's as well. His FB had good movement. Let's hope he can keep it up!

I saw 85 on one of his pitches. I've had my back to the TV for the most part. The highest I saw was 87.

His curve is starting to look good. You can see him growing confidence on every pitch.

I doubt they will. They already lost a safety, so Arch could very well be the replacement and backup to Brown. They are not counting on Brown this time around. Arch is a very good insurance policy to Brown IMO.

This isn't a bad deal at all. He was good for the Rams, let's hope he's better for us than he was with the 'skins.

YES! I am just continually impressed with Lou. Was Dusty really this bad? That with every Lou decision I rejoice? Dusty was that bad.

Wuertz looked like he was in midseason form last time I saw him pitch. He is one of our top relief pitchers and def deserves to make the team. Great move by Piniella.
