  1. Miller will be released or traded soon and Guzman will take his place. I can't wait.
  2. Say if Ohman does step up I think the best option would be to get rid of Miller and move Guzman as the 5th. That would get rid of the extra bp arm and give us a better starter. Guzman looked downright nasty last night.
  3. I'm thinking it probably has to do with his back.
  4. I would prefer to see Floyd over Jones, other than that it is perfect.
  5. Ok so we all know Ohman has sucked so far. He started really bad last year too and turned it around. He has definitely frustrated all of us but I think it's still too early to get rid of him.
  6. The way Piniella presented it to Soriano was as an option, not a demand. It wasn't like he said "You're going to LF." and Soriano told him to stick it. It was "Will moving to LF help your hitting with not having so much to worry about?" and he said he was fine, that CF wasn't a distraction. I don't think this is an issue. What happens when Soriano gets back and Pie stays on board though? I wonder is Pie will be our starting CF and if so will Sori be in RF or LF?
  7. I doubt that desparte...LOL. IMO, Miller is no longer a viable starter in the Majors. Mid 80's fastball, no movement. He had a nice run, but its over. Agreed. Moves I would like to see: Guzman as the 5th Theriot as the new SS
  8. Have you guys read this article? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070416cubsgamer,1,3488580.story?coll=cs-home-headlines According to this Piniella offered Soriano to play LF and he rejected it. To me iit means that 1. Pie was probably going to get called up to play CF no matter the injury to Soriano if he accepted. 2. How did he refuse to play LF? Is this going to be a problem now, and is Pie stays Soriano stays in CF as well? I think Jones will be out of there soon as well.
  9. Excellent article.
  10. Doesn't DeRosa bat very well against LHP? If so it doesn't make sense to have Theriot at 2B against them then. The solution is simple. get rid of Izturis (completely out of here if possible) and make Theriot our starting SS with Cedeno backing him up. He said at the very least have Theriot at 2B with DeRosa in RF-allowing both of them to play against a LHP, and taking Jacque out of the lineup against a LHP, which I think everybody wants also. The good thing is that this happened the first time around, although flipped (DeRosa at 2nd, Theriot in RF). That does make sense.
  11. No kidding, it's year 5 of the Hendry experiment and the lineup is still littered with crappy hitting outfielders and guys who can't get on base. And seniority remains the single most important factor to decide playing time. That's Hendry for ya..

  13. Per rotoworld: Murton has been the odd man out even though Alfonso Soriano, Jacque Jones and Floyd have combined for three RBI in 117 at-bats to date. OUCH.
  14. Anything to get rid of Izturis. It's only a matter of time..
  15. Threatening to bench? I'm guessing Izzy and Floyd. Hopefully Jones too.
  16. Good point, it should be exciting..win or lose royally :)
  17. Did he say that? Yup. I was kinda hoping that when he came in there to grab Ohman he would scream at him or kick him right on the rear.
  18. Santo criticizing Lou about why bringing in DeRosa when he's hurt. he ha sa point.
  19. It's unfortunate that our #1 pitcher is one of the worst offenders in this area. His rising ERA isn't a good sign either..
