Maybe we could trade him to SD for Maddux. Ugh, that deal still bugs me. I had no problems seeing Maddux go, but they didn't have to get that in return. I said it at the time...and I'll say it again...just giving Maddux away for nothing...just them paying the remainder of his salary last year...would have been preferable to izturis.

I like it... but here's another option I haven't heard suggested...lets teach Murton to play 2nd...then I'd really like that line up. (obviously kidding....well...pretty much...has to play as good as Walker did there right?)

I wish I could stop watching and caring about them...I really do. i refer to the poster who said its like a car crash...you can't help but look I think they're more like a mentally abusive girlfriend...you love them to death and they keep treating you like crap.....then you finally say screw it, I dont' care anymore and then for one season they do something nice for you again and the cycle of abuse starts all over.

Just a reminder...last year at this time he was 0-2 with a 5.35 ERA...and the sky was falling then too. If I remember right, he finished OK.

I couldn't even watch the game but I can rest assured knowing that the Ump is in no way the reason we lost this game....going scoreless for the last 9 innings...now THAT might have something to do with it...maybe.

Wow...how unlike the Cubs...have a guy on 2nd, two innings in a row in extra innings and fail to get him home...isn't this the inning in the script where we give up two runs, then get one back in the bottom of the inning just to come up one run short?

Ok, that's not what I was getting at, even if that's what this does turn into, (I hope it doesn't) I just thought that was a pretty bold statement. I like what I've seen from Lou so far (although I'd like to see more Murton) but I'm not sure I could say best Cubs manager ever...(although my memory only goes back to Jim Frey...so maybe its not as big a hurdle as I once thought)... -
