    Thanks Bruce...I already miss Theriot getting on base....Floyd in the 2 hole? hmm Not sure about that. Would be nice to see Barrett and Riot in there instead.

    Floyd also smoked about 4-5 line drives that just happened to find defenders instead of going for base hits. Luck affects small sample sizes a lot. It's better to just use your eyes in cases like this. Floyd looked pretty bad in his last couple of games though, taking some real ugly swings. Murton will outplay Floyd given the ABs. I don't doubt that at all. I agree with all of this. Somehow, I don't think Lou or Hendry do. What bugs the hell out of me is all the "They love Murton" crap we hear from the media while he still doesn't ever seem to start. If he gets sent back down its plain stupid.

    Ok...Stoney says Fonzie wants to lead off because he seems more fastballs there? Isn't that pretty dumb? I mean there is only one way he's assured to "lead off" and that's the first inning...

    Yeah...I basically only took out of that interview that he didn't like the Derosa signing and thinks Pie will go down...great. Not sure why Pie isn't playing...I guess its to let Jones play center for a bit and if he can then Pie goes back down?

    As long as the pitcher called up is a reliever, however, it has the same effect. The Cubs don't need a fifth starter for awhile, so the immediate need is for 7 relievers as opposed to 12 total pitchers. By the time the 5th starter is needed Guzman will be eligible to be called back up. To your point, looking at the schedule, the next 2 times the Cubs need a 5th starter are May 1 and May 12. Technically, couldn't they bring Angel up on the 1st, send him down to Iowa for another reliever, and then recall him again on the 12th? Is that true if Miller is sent down due to an "injury"?

    I've got pretty good seats (200 level, first baseline) for Saturday's game...excited about taking my older boy (2 and a half years old) down on the field after the game to run the bases...I may have him slide into second and stop just to show Ronny how its done.

    I think there's a reasonable chance that they'll DL Miller with an injured [iNSERT RANDOM BODY PART HERE], in which case they should do it today. That was my hope. I think a diagnosis of "washed up arm" would be hard to argue with...But that doesn't really get us to 12 pitchers...just swaps them out...I'd vote for Cedeno going down...TheRiot being the starting SS, DeRosa starting at 2nd...Izturis being back up and late inning defensive replacement...still...leaves us very outfield heavy on the bench.

    The likelihood is that whoever is the 5th starter will get skipped because of the off day on Thursday. You will likely see Zambrano. That would be MUCH better.

    I'm a gun owner...and I think this is a fine idea. At the very least all automatic, and semi-autos with clips more than 9 bullets.

    That's funny...everyone else has said they are negotiating with MLB....I'm very tempted to write a letter to each and every member of the Charter Board of Directors just to complain how HORRIBLE their customer service is.

    (Not that I'll trust anything until I see it on my TV...) But apparently they whispered and changed rooms correctly...I talked to an actual Charter guy in the U.S. Today who helped me fix a TiVo issue I was having and I said as we got of..."hey, you wouldn't happen to know anything about the MLB-EI package woudl you"...he said...let me talk to my supervisor...returns and said that the deal has now been signed and they are working on getting the billing system set up to take orders...Whee... I'm continuing my disbelief until I see it on my TV...but this guy was in the U.S. and had actually heard of baseball and said that he new about the negotiations and that they were done and Charter was setting up the ordering system...that's at least kinda positive.

    If you directed this at me, then please lighten up a little. I was only trying to inject a little fun into an otherwise depressing situation. I realize they want to play. I'm guessing it was directed at me because in my OP I said "what's his excuse again"...maybe I should have worded it "what's his accute medical condition again" but thought excuse was easier...I agree though...he should lighten up.

    What a crock. Charter is some operation. I just talked to some guy whose name I could not understand. He said they are still negotiating and that it "looks promising." Whatever that means. This is so aggravating. maybe Charter needs to sit back in their chair and whisper. This creates a dominant position for them. Then they should change rooms at the last minute or suddenly leave the room post of the day. :D

    New Charter twist for today "Maria" indicated to me (this time I called in)that they were "still negotiating" but that now they were taking survey's of their customers to guage interest... While I'd encurage all charter customers to call in and say you are interested, this sounds like bad news to me...just an excuse to come back and say that "well..only 2% of our customers really wanted it so it wasn't really a priority"...or something like that crap.
