    If they're still as close as they are now doesn't Z just have to pitch in that series? I'd be all for giving Gallagher a spot start against Pittsburgh the weekend before, which would put Marshall against the Cards on the make up day (they have trouble with lefties) and then would also allow Z to pitch in that 4 game series.

    Same guy. EDIT - Whoops. That's what I get for not refreshing. This guy has a treasure trove of great stuff...may be my new favorite writer....one of his pleadings he sued about 400 people, including Scott Bayo and the Pope, (for manipulating the international monetary system I think)...that amused me to no end

    Yeah that has heartbreak written all over it. I really really don't want to have to go in there needing to clinch, either have it done or be out of it. Shades of Victor Diaz haunting my memory. please don't say that name. I will never forget that game.

    Today is a big game...we need to Sweep. 2 of 3 is always nice, but sweeps this time of year make a huge difference.

    I hated it at first. I disliked it when I realized the Cubs weren't going to have to pay him much, and I love it now, I was kind of "eh" about it to begin with, but wanted to give it a chance...I just remember having a long multi-page thread discussion with a couple unnamed posters who just thought it was a season killing stupid move after his first 4 games.... He's been a really really big help in Soriano's absence. No power obviously, but he gets on base and catches alright (no he can't throw)...but considering the .231/.238 line that Barrett has put up with the Padres we got a steal. BTW...What the hell happened to Barrett..those are numbers Neifi would blush at.

    Hey, if they just add another 3,000 seats your in! BTW...Where's the next addition come from? I'm half way surprised they haven't attempted to buy the buildings accross the street and make the rooftops some sort of premium "Wrigley" seats (like the seats on top the monster in Fenway)...

    Yeah, I'm 34000+ Hope my grandkids enjoy them. When did you sign up? Was there a huge increase somewhere? I signed up last fall...I'm # 25K something or other 28408 is my exact number...and it hasnt' moved even one spot since January.

    So if I do the math right...we miss getting shut out by Webb in the Az series right? Not to sound optimistic...but tonight is the only time in the next 6 games we face a guy with a winning record. taking 4 of 6 would be ok with me.

    Murton, Kendall, Fox/Cedeno/Hill (should be Zambrano) due up... no chance we do anything this is whats gonna happen Murton will single Kendall will BB Cedeno will fail at a Sac Bunt Theriot will BB Jones ends the game. Hmm... Do you mean... oh nevermind Jacque would get a shaving cream pie to the face if we won...I'd guarantee it. :D

    While this is correct, this is a really stupid rule. The game shouldn't count unless it is completed. Yes, I agree. Stupid things happen in baseball, though. For example, do you think it was cool, as a Cards fan, to see Duncan have to continue an at-bat after a two-hour delay with two strikes against a new pitcher? Why not? You can switch pitchers in the middle of an at-bat. And I think the Cards could have brought in a new hitter if they so wanted.
