    usually not until 2 hours before game time at the earliest Not always. The rare exceptions are these very early games, or the game coming back from all star break, late season games or playoffs. I think Lou is sticking with the same lineup just to avoid any perception of panic over the first one. One game shouldn't determine anything (although Theriot and Soriano's careers should have determined it long before now). I must have missed something...are there seriously people panicing over the first game? After last year's first game I thought this one was outstanding....we'll win games and lose games all year...Monday was just one of them.

    I say the Cards....because they have 2 servicable pitchers in their rotation and have now used both of them and have one loss to show for it....plus...when else is Izturis going to get a hit AND a walk in a game this year....they wasted his best performance of the year.

    A noble act for a noble cause. Whats the over under on # of pages after the trade is actually announced (if its ever announced)...my guess is that it woudl be suprisingly little...I mean...seriously, how much more can be said about Brian Roberts?

    That's the one I was able to name off the top of my head as well...I though that was pretty good considering I was 5 for most of the 1981 season. Me too. :grin: And we're both now stuck in St. Louis...we should catch a game sometime....

    Nope...just fine. Now of course I was messed up for the entire month of February but that's a different story.

    Its been worse...much much worse. I have a desk calendar that has a different "Cubs fact" every day...today was the following: Fact: In 1981, the shortstop-second base combination for the cdus teamed up to hit a combined .196 with 5 home runs and 39 RBI. Their obp was in the .260s.... Wowsers :shock: Can you name them? (I got one without looking...)

    I am pretty sure it is $179 or add supefan for another $50 Yeah, the "Early Bird" rate is ONLY 4 installments of $44 and change. They keep jacking it up each season. Wonder how they justify the big increase this year? I got it for like $109 last year....but that was because I also have my phone and internet service with my cable company so they gave additional discounts for that...

    I choose Dempster with the thought that it would mean Marquis got moved pre season and then after Dempster falls a bit in the first few months then Gallagher gets the role full time
