  1. cc broke the rules, b& plz Like Bill from Guess Who? thank you for making my day incredible (apparently a Guess Who reference is all it takes)
  2. if true, the rich donor child abuse ring is RIGHT out of a terrible SVU episode that i remember watching (so i take back all of those times i said "this seems implausible" when i happened to see that show). somehow these molester guys are able to identify each other and have underground hangouts and evilness conventions, so it doesn’t really surprise me. also, someone has to be tracking down all of those foster kids he took in, and obviously the six he adopted. i would hope that he’d have some self-control there, but signs point to no. i had to turn off espn after a while last night. the students were so, so embarrassing. i keep telling myself they're only 18, but still.
  3. i don’t think it’s only the lack of immediate reaction. he actually saw a rape happen and was understandably “distraught” about it. it’s clear that he understood what had gone on pretty clearly. after reporting it to his boss, he had to know that it went nowhere because the cops never came around and sandusky remained on campus. yet he dropped it and continued to work there. i think the confusion is how he could “rationalize” what happened when he actually saw it with his own eyes, and, to this day, is able to give specific details about it. i’m sure a lot of child molesters are smart enough to never get caught by a credible witness like that. what a waste.
  4. the public will probably be satisfied with getting rid of paterno (as the public figure) and the guys charged with perjury, but i hope they ax the president as well. the reports on what he knew back in 2002 are a little hazy, but i can't forget how on saturday he said: PSU had access to the grand jury report when this statement was made, and nothing changed from then until now except for the level of public outrage. if they read the report and had complete confidence in how things were handled, it convinces me that the problem is systemic. the constant shifting of information and responsibility turned everything into a bad game of telephone. grad assistant tells paterno, paterno tells the AD, AD passes it off to the charity, someone mentions something to the president, and nine years later everyone is confused on who said what to who, and whether the communication actually specified legit rape or not (as if this was somehow the deciding factor on whether it was serious enough to report). i can’t believe how not one of these people got his head out of his stupid college bubbleville and realized that PSU is not the boss of law enforcement.
  5. i don't see how penn state is more qualified than the police to investigate this type of accusation. even if there are certain situations at a university where an internal investigation might be warranted, how is this one of them? i really don't understand that part of it.
  6. all of these people are disgusting. and joe paterno, etc. have no place using the "i did what i was obligated to do!" in their stupid press releases because those reporting guidelines are the minimum standards one should follow to avoid criminal trouble, and have nothing to do with being a decent representative of the university/human being. all these people played a part in keeping a crazy child molester in business and they deserve the disgrace that is coming to them. http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/07/justice/pennsylvania-coach-abuse-timeline/?hpt=ju_c2 that is the equivalent of: “clearly you do bad things, but could you not do them here? keep the office though!” also, given what mcqueary saw in the locker room, how could he stay there all this time knowing that no one ever contacted police? was the job just too cushy? also, if i’m ever at work and see someone being raped, i promise i will be calling 911 BECAUSE THAT IS AN EMERGENCY.
  7. i was in line to board a flight back from new york and muhammad ali was the first person to get off the plane. also, saw perez hilton sitting on the floor in a corner at mccarran int’l with multiple tech devices and lots of snacks (before he became health-conscious). never actually flown with a celebrity though, probably because i’m usually on southwest. the best i can hope for is kevin smith.
  8. i like this idea, will do the same when i get out there next month
  9. it says there are 122 guests in the game threads forum. this can't be right.

  15. i'm excited that it's looking good for texas but i'm already dreading the shot of the losers staring sadly at the celebration on the field. this always KILLS me for some reason, even when it's the cardinals.

  19. you beat me to it but anyway, i would not look back in regret about that decision. LSAT and law school are easy, but what comes after kind of sucks for a good 80% of people. HOWEVER, if anyone make it work it is CT

  24. this is UMfan's neighbor right? i guess it's confirmed that she's theo's assistant unless he demotes her when jed comes. either way, i'd advise switching redheaded girlfriends, C.C.
  25. asked what made him different from other executives, said his ability to remain inconspicuous at starbucks thank you, i'm officially in love
