  1. Did he really do a curtain call on a game tying HR in the 6th inning? what? i was outside during that moment, if true, thank god i wasn't watching Wait. A guy isn't allowed to do a curtain call on game tying HR in the 6th inning? I don't recall that happening, but considering the roll he's been on, I could easily see Cubs fans calling for a similar player to do a curtain call. I am mostly talking about him having the slowest walk to 1st base in baseball after his 3 second pose. The one against the Cards was worse than against the Cubs. If he does that against Zambrano he will take notice. And if that happens, we can expect Soriano to get one in the ribs and then a nice baseball brawl.
  2. Cubs: 6 runs scored, 10 LOB: 6/16 = 37.5% efficiency Brewers: 4 runs scored, 5 LOB: 4/9 = 44.4% efficiency 37.5% < 44.4%. Thus, the Cubs blew more chances than the Brewers, but still won. Make sense now? This is all I am trying to say. You show up here with a backhanded compliment with the caveat that you think the Brewers beat themselves, because they somehow failed to convert 100% of their chances, as if that is somehow abnormal. I respond by stating the Cubs really should've done more with the chances they had. Thus, the game shouldn't have been that close. Thankfully, they pulled it out anyway, but deserved the win. It's not that hard, really. Brewers... 1. Missed a run by calling Hart out at 3rd. 2. Weeks gives away 2 runs on a easy double play ball. 3. Torres walks 3 guys in the 9th. 4. We have Ned Yost as our manager and thats not fair. 5. Hall if he was in position would of gotten Cedeno out at 3rd. 6. Infield single by Fukudome that Weeks should of handled. 7. DeRosa infield single that Hall should of made a play on. Yes, I belive the Brewers lost this game. We dont always have to agree. I dont agree with you. Get It? Well at least you realize that this costs you games.
  3. Just goin by Gameday. It says he left at a Dusty-like 129.
  4. Sneaky power. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  5. Uggla hit one that hasn't landed yet.
  6. Football coaches should never sing the stretch.
  7. When did the warning track power come back?
  8. i too watch the games and think to myself what it would be like if he were playing CF hard to conceptualize, it's just such a maverick idea i wonder if any manager would ever try playing him there if only he had 265 games in CF to really know for sure Why did they put him in RF to begin with...?
  9. They got to play the Rockies? [joe morgan] They had experience on their side. The Red Sox had been there a few years earlier. The Rockies were in the World Series for the first time in their history. [/joe morgan]
  10. Well I'm proven wrong. Ya sure, he isn't the greatest player at the plate, but didn't Piniella say Ichiro could hit 40 HRs a year if he was allowed to back when Piniella was in Seattle? I personally would take that Ichiro over the one playing right now if it translated to something like .280/.370/.500 per season. I also think he should be their CF, not their RF. His defense is wasted in RF because he is a fast player and putting him in RF takes away from that skill a little, whereas he could cover for other OFs defensive deficiencies as a CF with his range. I forgot about his above-average arm too. Ultimately, he probably would be an upgrade over the Johnson/Edmonds platoon as an overall player. His defense and steals would probably make up for the loss at the plate.
  11. What did the Phillies give up to get Rowand, and did Rowand leave as a FA or did they trade him to SF?
  12. Ichiro is overrated? Because he is. seriously? Yes. Especially when he isn't a CF.
  13. I'd like this, especially if the AL plays with 8 players.
