  1. starting the 'this thread blows' trend early hooray I love it when the threads are like. "SKY IS FALLING!!!3! BRING UP GUYS FROM SINGLE A TO REPLACE OUR ENTIRE TEAM!!9!!" It really livens things up around here.
  2. Did you see one of their "best fans in baseball" reach for that ball?
  3. I heard winning 12 out of 13 on the road has that effect... :-k
  4. I don't see why not. I could see 3 out of 4 or even a sweep, too. Nice to have Dempster, Harden, Lilly, and Z going.. hopefully Z gets his head out of his ass. That Harden vs. Blanton matchup is one hell of a mismatch. A split would almost feel like a disappointment with our best pitchers going. I like this. I think 3 of 4 should pretty much be expected here now. That would put the magic numbers at 22 and 17 if the Brewers and Cardinals win all of their games. Obviously, that can't happen. Also, Pittsburgh E# is now at 4 with the sweep.
  5. This was the Cubs 18th win of the month. Anyone think we can split with the Phillies to get to 20 wins this month?
  6. Yep. Quite the opposite of last night's game.
  7. Well, next inning goes Ad Laroche-Moss-Sanchez...
  8. It's a 2-run game. That said, Gaudin didn't pitch last night, right? He did yes 2 batters I believe Last night's box score said he got 2 outs. So I'm wrong.

  10. So the season isn't actually over?
  11. Wow, I didnt realize a Cubs catcher ever put up a line like that. Yeah, you always hear Hartnett's name in discussions of Cubs greats, but I always assumed that it was in relative terms to the stats of the day. .630 SLG?!?! In 1930!?!? Yeesh. That wasn't even the best season on the team as that was also the year Wilson Hacked his way to 191 RBI. The 1930 Cubs scored 998 runs, hitting .309/.374/.481 as a team. This kinda makes you wonder how crazy we would be going if we were getting .356/.454/.723  production out of CF right now...

  14. I remember him hitting one this season.
  15. I think Hanson's 1.6 WHIP will be going up after this, but I'm not that good at math.

  17. Bases loaded no out now for Lee. I say walk, DP, K. Cubs lead after this inning 9-8.
  18. Throwing water coolers, kicking things. The usual.
