  1. Les Walrond? Now I'm not a Cubs minor leaguer expert by any means, but why have I never heard his name before?
  2. I'm just trying to understand the mentality here. When Barrett hit that grand slam the other night, did you get pissed off? When Marmol was filthy and making the Reds hitters look like minor leaguers, were you mad? Were you rooting for Dunn to hit a bomb every time he stepped up to the plate? If you go to a game at Wrigley, are you going to root against them then? Will you cheer when the opposing teams scores? Somehow, I doubt it. But if you're rooting for them to fail overall, you should loudly do it at Wrigley. But for fear of what other Cubs fans might say to you, you don't/wont. Is that pretty accurate?
  3. Will Prior be back for Rusch's next turn in the rotation, or no? They said during the game yesterday that if all goes well in his AAA start tomorrow night, he could start this Sunday against Detroit.
  4. Yes, it's wrong. You're a Cubs fan and you're rooting for them to lose? That's absurd.
  5. Murton swung at the 2nd pitch actually, according to Gameday.
  6. I HAVE NO IDEA THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION Your a funny man. You're.
  7. I HAVE NO IDEA THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION
  8. Wow, Jr. Griffey is one HR away from tying Mike Schmidt for 11th place all time. I didn't realize he was that high up.
  9. Oh boy. Get him out of there Dusty!
  10. Okay, despite what I said earlier about letting him get the shutout (when I thought we were an inning ahead), sending him back out there now is a bad idea. He had control issues in the previous inning and he's at 110. Use that good bullpen, Dusty!
  11. I didn't, the tv is in a different room. Spill the beans! As he walked back to the dugout, he started hitting himself in the head with his right hand, then pointing to his brain while screaming and cussing at himself. I believe he was trying to kill his brain. Haha, that's awesome.
  12. I vote for lettting him stay in to get the shutout. He'll likely be under 100 pitches going to the 9th. Quinton McCracken is still in baseball? Wow. hes got almost 100 plus now?! I just realized that the game was only in the bottom of the 7th. I thought it was the 8th inning. Haha, you probably thought I was nuts for suggesting that Z finish the game when he was above 90 pitches in the 7th inning!
  13. I vote for lettting him stay in to get the shutout. He'll likely be under 100 pitches going to the 9th. Quinton McCracken is still in baseball? Wow. hes got almost 100 plus now?! Now he does. I had assumed that Quinton McCracken would be an easy out. I was wrong.
  14. BP's metric for the addition to OBP that stolen bases should provide would give Pierre a boost from .277 to .290 (prior to today). Wait, I'm confused. How would stealing a base, when a player is already on base (obviously), boost his OBP? From BP... Thanks for the explanation. I still think that if you're going to adjust things, a SB should result in a boost to a player's SLG, not his OBP.

  17. OPS = ( H + BB + HBP ) / ( AB + BB + HBP - SF). Not affected by SB one way or the other, no? Well, technically no. But I know in the offseason some people talked about how his OBP was essentially lower due to his Caught Stealing totals, so it only makes sense to adjust his SLG for bases that he steals if you're adjusting his OBP for his CS's. How bout that Michael Barrett! Zambrano might get a complete game shutout!
  18. Anyone know what Pierre's SB total takes his OPS up to?
  19. CUBS are 8-19 when they throw more pitches than the opponent.... 10-6 when they throw fewer pitches than the opponent.... 6-11 when the pitch counts are even.... 9-6 when they throw less pitches Go CUBS !! Say what? Edit: nevermind, I see that you caught that too.
  20. Am I reading Gameday right? Does the opposing pitcher really have 15 more pitches than Zambrano? That's incredible!
  21. I don't get it.... .we beat this guy like a rented mule 2 weeks ago, 8-3 behind Maddux...... now, we can't touch him. What's up with that ?? He picked up a copy of the book on the Cubs. It's a pretty quick read.
