    No way should he be automatically penciled in. If there is a better option, by all means pursue it. I personally don't think he's going to be anything better than an average player, but if he's the best option then I'm fine with him being given the job.

    I'm so glad this game is on WGN for the sole reason that I got sick of hearing that Astros announcers call Lee El Caballo every time he did something. I don't think they called him by his name once.

    The 1969 Cubs should've made the playoffs but didn't. The 1984 Cubs should've made the World Series, but didn't. The 2003 Cubs should've made the World Series, but didn't. You know, things don't always work out as they should. I'll gladly take a trip to the postseason, and I'll enjoy it too. Those of you who don't want them to make it, don't watch when they do. Let the rest of us fans who actually prefer our team to win enjoy the ride.

    I'll be 15 rows behind the Cubs dugout at the Saturday day game, and I might go to the Friday night game as well. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous all weekend, so it should be a fun time downtown.
