  1. He is - someone posted the technicalities behind it somewhere on the board awesome. Yeah awesome, you really think Lou will take him over a veteran backup catcher? Why wouldn't he? He's been going with Soto over Blanco for awhile now, why would he change that if Soto keeps hitting?
  2. I don't want to complain too much since we're up 4 runs, but we should be up by a lot more than that.
  3. Raisin said he was eligible in another thread.
  4. I wasn't as high on Soto as most others were, but I've slowly grown to be more and more of a fan. He's a really solid player. Ronny!
  5. How did this guy make it to the finals??
  6. McGahee. He has rushed for at least 110 yards against the Jets the last five times he's played them.
  7. People are blaming Kendall for this loss? Seriously? Piniero retired (at least) 15 straight. Chalk this one up to a crappy offense and Marshall not being able to get through 4 innings. Blaming Kendall is [expletive].
  8. I really wonder how Spezio came back so quickly. He did blow for years and years, goes to rehab for a few weeks and now he's fully recovered? I don't buy it.
  9. Daryle Ward has been an awesome addition to this team. Whether it's been giving Lee a day off, starting in RF, or coming off the bench late in the game, he's been money all year long. His line of .347/.451/.554/1.005 is just ridiculous. I can't remember the last time we had a versatile guy who was this good on our bench. Oh, and against the Cardinals he has a cool 1500 OPS. SOLID pickup by Hendry, and at a great price too.
  10. We could be three games up at the end of the day. Lilly is pretty awesome during day games, but so is Looper. The Cards are 6 back and have to know that their season is over. The Cubs are hot and are coming off a big win, I expect them to carry the momentum over into today's game. I'll be 15 rows behind the Cubs dugout, hopefully cheering them on to victory!
  11. Might want to update your sig so that it includes the past three games.
  12. How bout putting Dempster in a non-save situation??? Terrible decision tonight. Thank God it worked out. Is it too much to ask a guy to get the job done with a 4 run lead? Then if Lou doesn't put Desmpster in, out come the "Dempster needs regular work" excuses. With a four run lead, I wouldn't have put him in. It's not close to being a "terrible" decision though. Great call going with Ward though.
  13. Wow, this came out of nowhere. Or so it seems. He's done. Forget about him.
  14. Yeah, we've manhandled him this year. There's really no reason to think that we won't do it again tonight.
  15. Is Lee playing? And we should destroy the Cards tonight. Z owns them, and we own Wainwright.
  16. What an assenine comment. If you've read this thread you'd know that the whole argument for wanting the cubs to miss the playoffs is because fans would like to be able to point to more than 3 out of the last 40 seasons as seasons we had a chance. The word you're looking for is asinine. What's "assenine" is your logic. People don't want the Cubs to make the playoffs because we've been lousy in the past? That's just flat out stupid. No real fan would ever want the team they supposedly support to not make the playoffs. Correcting spelling...the sure sign of someone who has a weak argument. I'll bold the asinine comment. If you've read the thread at allyou will realize that those who may not want the team to win, only do so because they are fans who would like to "enjoy the ride" more often than they have been able to in the past. Your implication that those who do not want them to make it to the playoffs aren't real fans just make you look ignorant/you haven't read the thread/unable to follow very simple logic that has been clearly delineated multiple times. If you're going to comment on the intelligence of my post, at least freaking spell the words right that way you don't make yourself look like a complete... nevermind. Regarding the body of your post... all that needs to be said is that if you don't want the Cubs to make the playoffs, you're not a true fan. It's that simple.
  17. Good God, get over yourself. No one really likes you. Understand that.
  18. Sole possession of first place! Hopefully for the rest of the year!
  19. I don't have a problem with Marmol pitching the 9th. He was off yesterday.
  20. Damnit, I switch it to Gameday Audio so I can hear Pat and Ron call the win, and of course I miss a great play.
  21. WTF. According to MLB.TV, the top of the 8th never happened.
  22. I really like how Lou has been using Pie lately.
  23. Oh God, not Kerry Wood. I don't feel comfortable with him on the mound at all.
