  1. Sorry but i don't think it matters unless you just want a division title... I mean wheater they play WC or NLDS, how much confidence do you have in the offense against a team top 2 starters and the BP to hold a lead or keep a game close what team's top 2 starters scare you in the NL playoffs? Any of them against the Cubs offense.
  2. MaddoningTM not doing J-Hey any favors by NOT giving him any protein protection in the lineup.
  3. I think lost in the last few weeks is the brilliance of MaddoningTM mixing up the closer from game to game. The other manager isn’t gonna have a clue who the Cubs will be trotting out there in the 9th each night. Love it!
  4. Without a rainout for the Brewers, that half game was hanging out there for a long time. Finally, that half game tipped to the W column.
  5. Could this possibly be the reason McDreamy Eyes Bryant squints so much? :dontknow:
  6. So I don’t know if this is even an option. Or if it’s even worth doing. But I think we need to shake things up a bit. Andy’s got the current game. Ride him out until we clinch the division. But if he falters, I think some of you guys need to go on short rest. That means Sammy Sofa, sportin’ that .714 winning percentage. Banedon, you need to be ready after that if they still haven’t clinched. No offense to Liam Neeson and the rest of you guys, but you don’t start Alec Mills and Tyler Chatsuck when the season is on the line. Who’s with me on this?
  7. I don’t remember which username is Dylan, but yea, F him!
  8. Doubtful. MaddoningTM has tried just about every lineup possibility there is, both good and bad. Multiple players can’t even get “lukewarm” at the same time. And they can’t seem to bunch hits together to score runs (when they actually hit). I keep waiting for the offense to get back to normal at some point this year, and it really hasn’t happened. Hopefully, this is not the new normal.
  9. Shirley, you jest. #59 - The team is fine. First place. Best record in the NL. Favorite to represent the NL in the World Series.
  10. Remember when the Cubs used to work the count night after night. Yep, good things happens when your team gets on base a lot due to BBs.
  11. Well then at least the Cubs know the winning recipe: shutout.
  12. Need to at least tie it in the next two innings. Because they ain’t getting nuttin’ against Vazquez in the 9th.
  13. Because that’s what the Cubs offense does for pitchers so very often.
  14. If Taillon served up fastballs in that location to everyone else, I'm pretty sure we'd see lots of dong. Clearly it’s been awhile since you’ve seen Ian, Willy, Addy and KB swing right through or miss pitches grooved down the heart of the plate.
  15. Why not bat him lead off? High OBP, good base running and perceived protection for the #9 non-pitcher batter. Faster than Zo and a better base runner. Hit Zo second and it opens up the possibilities of the H&R and/or multiple base runners for the middle of the order.
  16. What direction the QB is looking DOES NOT MATTER. He didn't lift him off the ground. He ran into him and he tackled him. It was a sack. If this is no longer a sack, then you simply aren't allowed to tackle the QB anymore. If that is what we want the rules to be...ok, fine. Just actually make that the rules. Two-hand touch, whatever. Just make the rules clear. Bears have legally tackled the QB 14 times so far And you’ll be screaming when they’re flagged for a ridiculous RTP foul, especially it it may have influenced the outcome of the game.
  17. Some people are putting waaayy too much stock into only three games. Heck, a bunch of these guys hardly played during preseason. The good teams will rise, and there will be plenty of good teams.
  18. Barring injury to another starter, trust me, it would be fantastic if he started one of those games.
  19. Random thought: wouldn’t mind seeing Chatsuck start the Thursday game against the Bucs or any of the games against the Sh!tbirds.
  20. I hope Cole Hamels is somehow like Justin Verlander.
  21. Look, it’s a great comeback, no doubt. And I get it. He had multiple back surgeries. As a sufferer of minor back issues for most of my adult life, I have great sympathy for anyone that endures even slight back problems. I just get a little tired of the love fest for him, that’s all. He’s a tremendous talent. And I get it. The networks make note $$$ if Tiger is in the news, especially in contention on the weekend.
