  1. Off with his head! Yeah! I hope that whatever was going on in the stands, that Gammons got punked.
  2. Wow, that's a good line for a pitching staff.
  3. isn't it weird how as Cubs fans, the ump gets a call right, and we feel fortunate. the pitch to Barrett before the GS was a ball. I'm not sure which call you're referring to. bottom line is, pitches that Morgan describes as "acceptable" strikes went like this today: one corner call for Marshall against Pujols one corner call for Barrett against Izzy all others went the Cards way. The obvious bad call at 1st base that went the Cubs way is the one I was referring to. But, Murton was safe at 1st earlier in the game, but they called him out. I felt like it was a make up call. The Barrett pitch was definitely borderline, but there were a bunch of them that Marshall threw that I felt were strikes also. I thought Marshall was just getting the "rookie" treatment. Izzy and Rincon on the otherhand, weren't anywhere near the strike zone when they missed, so the ump apparently didn't feel like being generous to them. the beauty of TIVO. I watched all the close calls on the bases tonight in super slow mo, and the first base ump got them all right. I was peeved too at the Lee and Murton calls, but he got them right. on Cedeno's, the throw did beat him, but Pujols came off the bag for just one quick blink. enough time for Ronny to get his foot on the bag. Yeah, but I am still a bit peeved about that strike 3 call on Slappy, where he should had asked for 3rd baseman umpire's help. And I honestly believe that Pierre didn't go around.
  4. Haha, what a lame excuse. Philly was cold as well. I guess they just need to sack up and just say "Yeah, we got our rear-end handed back to us."
  5. One thing that Hendry did right today was to turn down the TV volume when Joe and Jon were talking about him. =D> I guess he got to the point where he got irritated and just turned the TV down.
  6. Well... since Rusch is pitching, better pray that the wind is blowing in.
  7. On the post game show, Dusty's reasoning for pulling Marshall is that the most he pitched in ST was 4 innings. Then, it's poor planning in the ST. It obviously needs to be increased. Well, it could have been due to the fact that the Cubs may have thought that Prior would be back, but I'm guessing that Prior's injury mad had screwed up their scheduling. Just my speculation.
  8. I think the Cardinals' OF is worse than the Cubs OF.
  9. Well there are two sides when I think of this. One, yeah, I would like to see Marshall get out of his own mess that he created. And if he did get out of the jam, then good. But what would had happened if he gave up a grand slam, or a double, that drives all the run in? Kinda hard to tell. On the other side, the Cubs pen have been doing well, and I guess that Baker may had more confidence on the pen than the rookie starter, and also that Baker could have been a bit worried about Marshall's confidence being shaken. Of course, Wuertz could had given up the grand slam or that double. Either way, the damange was minimum, thankfully. The pen did it's job.
  10. I thought they did a good job as well, despite some inconsistencies by Wuertz and Williams. But they kept the damage to a minimium, which is good, especially that bases-loaded where it could had been a full-scale self-destruction.
  11. I thought he did well, other than making that one mistake to Rolen, who jacked the 2 run HR off of him. Other than that, I thought he did well, never losing his composure, including that inconsistent homeplate umpire giving him the rookie treament. He did run into some trouble on that one inning where he loaded the bases. But other than that, he tried his best to put the Cubs in a position to win it.
  12. Yep. Going 2 for 4 is very good. And it came at the right time when the Cubs needed it at the time.
  13. Very nice. Agreed.
  14. CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! SWEPT them right out of town!
  15. What I want to know is how did he react to the Grandslam? He was just literally scraming when Barrett's bat hit the ball. Everybody knew it was gone when it hit it. I wish I could have heard the call, thats kool. XM has the espn feed =( That's a bummer. Granted my MLB Audio is a bit behind, it's a good assest to have while I be working, or unable to catch the game on TV (Stupid Comcast/WGN)

  17. And there's your run scored w/o a homerun.
  18. lol at Ronnie. "Whoa! Whoa!" on Pagan's speed.
  19. Wow... Pagan got some serious wheels. Easily beat out a routine DP.
  20. Jeez, Rolen is having some big issues at 3rd.
  21. He may be worst defensive catcher for some of people, but he's a damn good hitter, and a clutch one at that.
