  1. Z is amazing. He's so fun to watch play. It would be a crime not to resign him (and I said that early in the season when he wasn't so on his game). Almost a no-hitter last time out....this time......
  2. It has been over since they went on that six game losing streak. It was over when Hendry decided that Izturis could be a starting SS, Jones could be a starting RF, and we could get by with Jason Marquis as a starter. We were doomed from the start of the season. The season isn't over.
  3. Nonesense. It's a long season. We're in second place. Aramis back tomorrow.
  4. Two walks for Pie today (and another at bat where he went to 3 balls)
  5. Great first game by Bowen so far though. Ronnie's hitting very well in AAA.
  6. Petrick continues to do well.
  7. I'm really liking the Cubs starting pitching right now.
  8. The catcher got lucky one time. Last year he was 7 for 7!
  9. How the heck does Dunn have 7 stolen bases in 8 attempts this year?
  10. So who's going in order to make room for Marshall?
  11. Now Lilly can get the win. (crosses fingers) Our starters (Lilly in particular, but also Guzman) have been robbed of several wins.
  12. Pie, Patterson, and Marshall are sure looking like big leaguers. Will Fox make Barrett expendable?
  13. Have you ever had a measured reaction to anything? They called up Pagan because they assume he will hit LHP because he is a switch hitter yet was horrible vs. lefties last season. Again I say, this organization is a complete joke. I'll take that as a no. Please, inform me and my un-measured reaction, why calling up Pagan is a good move? He hits LHP no better than Pie, and is fraction of the defensive player that Pie is. If Pagan hit LHP well than I could see it. The key to the move is sending Pie back to AAA to play everyday. Pagan is far from ideal. But Pie had to get off the bench. Yes, but why Pagan? Chris Walker is a better player, isn't he? Why not call him up instead?
  14. Pagan probably will start 1-2 games a week-that's about the average amount of times the team should face a left-hander, and Pagan was brought up to play against LHP. That makes no sense...Pagan was terrible vs LHP last season. So is Jones, and so is Pie. It's not a great option, but it will hopefully be a small improvement, and Pagan has been good against LHP so far this year in the minors. Why not Chris Walker then? He provides better defense than Pagan, is a better base stealer, and hits for higher average
  15. I think I would have preferred Chris Walker. He brings less power, but better defense, a higher OBP, and more stolen bases.
  16. What about calling up Chris Walker from AAA to platoon with Jones in CF? He'd also be great as a pinch runner late in games. This would allow Pie to get the at bats in Iowa.
  17. don't blame Murton. he was held by quade.
  18. I'm in love with Ryan Theriot. Lou's micomanaging the bullpen could hurt us here..
  19. It's kind of hard to throw strikes when you're taken out before you're really even warmed up.
  20. ugh ugh ugh why oh why didn't we just keep wuertz in?
  21. I don't understanding taking out Wuertz after one batter! Took Guzman out an inning too early...taking Wuertz out after one batter. Lou really burns through a bullpen. One of these days when we have extras, its going to end up costing him.
