    So I'm pretty sure this game is on Maddon... I like his style in most cases, but it will cause this to happen occasionally. I also hate the umpires.

    I have been obsessively trying to make sure I watch all of Bryant's at bats so I may see his first home run. I will be unable to watch the beginning or the entirety of tonight's game. This convinces me, he will have his first home run tonight. I hope you guys enjoy it. :clapping: Tough one yesterday, it would be really nice to have a lead hold up better.

    That ump had it in for Bryant specifically, in addition to just being terrible. Two at bats had horrible calls. But the same thing happened at least once today against Briant, both a high and outside pitch and a low and inside pitch were called strikes. Could either one have been strikes, yes, but not both in the same at bat, or even the same game if this were a few years ago. This year the zone has been wildly inconsistent every game. It really doesn't make sense. This is not just with the Cubs, I've watched a lot of Giants games as well, and they have the same problem.

    Have I said I love Joe Maddon before? I love Joe Maddon. Oh that is lovely. I am so loving this team. Seriously, even the first two games of this series I was loving this team and just angry at the wizardry of the Cardinals. Maddon is my hero. Castro is so much fun it's silly. Rizzo is money. Russell is flat out awesome. Bryant is King. Everyone on this team has their moments (well, still waiting on a lot of the bullpen). I'm just super excited to be enjoying baseball again. Is there video of Maddon saying this?

    Would the 9 spot be too much of an ego hit for him? That would seem to be the ideal spot for him unless he really starts driving the ball again. I don't know, I think he's a pretty good bad ball hitter, so he might be the best for his current spot... he's just going to hit into double plays sometimes.
