    The Rule 5 draft could make keeping the farm intact somewhat difficult. Better to use at least some of that minor league talent as trade bait rather than let it be drafted away.

    Serena, sounds exciting, but after a 16 hour round trip to catch EPatt's AA debut, I don't think I'm up for a 24 hour round trip this weekend. But y'all have fun now, and go Chiefs!

    He and Felix Pie are going to be in a real battle for who gets to leadoff when they, hopefully, make it to the Cubs. Hopefully they don't battle, because Felix Pie is no leadoff hitter right now. Nolasco with his second straight impressive outing: 7 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 8 K. David Aardsma now in. Yeah, I know Pie isn't a leadoff hitter right now, but it's hard to be any hitter at all when you're hurt. Fine, when he was healthy earlier this season, Felix did not display the pitch recognition or plate discipline to be a good leadoff hitter in the big leagues. His plate discipline at AA as of now is worse than Corey Patterson's was at AA. Aardsma has now surrendered 4 Rs here in the 4th to make it an 8-4 game. After Nolasco already pitched 7?

    Murton's BABIP is high because, as one person put it, he's got "sneaky" speed, enabling him to get a base hit off an infield chopper. You do it long enough and consistently enough it's more than coincidence. Go Matt!

    I told you all not to trust the internet. KDXI 910 came in loud and clear except for about 10 minutes when the radio signal went down, too.     Hey, I'll be at the game tonight, soooooooooooo if you need any help... just kidding. :lol: I'll be there too - I wanted to hear DJAXX and wasn't sure I wanted to trust that hi-falutin' internet thingie. I'll be listening on Dixie 1310. Be here early, you gotta get your Pie bobblehead! I just recently unloaded from the car the DJaxx Mark Prior bobblehead I got last year! You can tell I'm really into this collectible stuff.

    :-s When it gets hot outside, the lizards try to sneak inside the cooler house. In that case, I should have a house full of lizards. I would complain if I were you. The Braves tie it in the 6th with 2 runs on 3 singles. Marmol does K the side, though. The heat index at the Rangers game today was over 100 degrees (I had enough since to go to work instead). A day game in Texas in August - what were they thinking? Don't worry, I'm complaining to all who will listen.

    Is Murton disqualified for excess splinters in his butt? He's got an OBP above 400 in 3 different leagues, an average of better than 339. How about some love for the red-headed stepchild? Not to mention he was the first player to do an interview with NSBB.

    If you are doing a good job of putting guys on base in front of your power hitters like ARam, you will also get your share of DP's. Rather than look at GDP's per AB, you would need to look at gdp's per AB with a man on 1st. By the time you do that, the sample size is probably too small to make reasonable comparisons. On average, the outcome of any AB is going to be bad 2 out of 3 times. It's just more noticeable in some situations.
