  1. he did indeed doesn't baseball tonight still pronounce it tear-e-ott, even though the sportscenter people get it right?
  2. Over/under on how many minutes into the broadcast before a Dusty sticky joins Morgan and Buck in rants is set at 14. i think there is a greater chance of dusty being boring and contributing nothing to the broadcast than there is of him being bitter or vindictive towards the Cubs on the air The prediction is based more on the likelihood of overwhelming stupidity than it is on the possibility of being vindictive. I don't give him credit for much, but I really think he's above taking out personal issues on the Cubs, especially in such a format. At least deliberately. yeah, dusty has consistently said good things about the cubs on espn, and even predicted them to take the central this year.
  3. i can't believe soriano is third. this should be interesting. DeRosa at first too. Weird I really hate Izturis in the #2 spot. I'd seriously rather see Pagan there i'd rather marquis be there.
  4. i can't believe soriano is third. this should be interesting.
  5. wowsers! didn't even know we got 9 dozen people on base this weekend.
  6. It's really depressing. We're already 8 games back, and it really does look out of reach, now. I'm sure most of us have started seeing a Wild Card possibility, because it doesnt look too good in the central.. There's a long way to go yet, but it sure does look like the wild card will be the 2nd place team from the East -- i.e. Mets/Braves, whoever loses that race. Lots can happen though. 128 games to go. there's no way 8 games can be made up in the standings. It requires 2 things to happen: 1) We play much, much better. This does not look all that likely at the moment. I hope it changes. 2) Teams ahead of us play much, much worse. Call me crazy, but I don't see the Brewers, Mets, Braves starting to suck. Sure, that might be wrong, but right now those teams just look much better than we are. yeah, the play much better thing is going to be hard to see. i don't think any reasonable person would believe that marquis can keep this up, and while zambrano may come around, it's no guarantee. with the one constant probably being the on again, off again offense, it will probably get worse before it gets better.
  7. why don't you just LET HIM SCORE. don't even look.
  8. jones coming through, two run double. i can't believe what i just saw.
  9. good idea to hold up, no way he scores there.
  10. soriano is running like that hammy is snapped in half
  11. had to jump back in after that shot!!! 8-) 8-) :D
  12. No, lets not forget it. He wasn't pitching fantastic. They had at least one base runner each inning. That isn't fantastic. Take off the Rich Hill blinders. He pitched like poop today. Please tell me you were actually watching the game, and not following on gameday. He has thrown ONE bad pitch. ONE. Yes I am watching. So on the two homers he threw one bad pitch. LMAO. He has had guys on base the whole game. That isn't fantastic. What part of this do you not understand. Burrell hit a PITCHERS PITCH. A low fastball out of the zone. Does this confuse you? 5 ER in 5 innings, fantastic. Your argument keeps changing. Now its earned runs. First of all, I said fantastic when it was 3-2. I still maintain that he threw one bad pitch. But I give up. I guess The results are always a perfect reflection of performance in baseball. now you're just avoiding the discussion. do you or don't you believe that if a pitcher walks a hitter, that those were bad pitches? because it would seem to me, that if a pitch allows a runner to reach base (any base, not just extra bases), excluding of course defensive mistakes - wide area that may cover, that that particular pitch did not accomplish the goal that the battery had intended it to, which would be to, at some point, end in an out. edit: i had meant to say battery, but typed batter towards the end of this post
  13. ONE. To be fair, a guy who issued three walks threw more than one bad pitch. By bad pitch, I mean one that can be driven for extra bases. so you don't think that if a pitcher throws enough pitches out of the zone for a hitter to walk, or that if a pitcher actually hits a batter that those are bad pitches? what if chase utley is hit, or walked regularly say, then the pitcher leaves a hanging breaking pitch to someone else, for the sake of conversation i'll go with pat burrell. you don't think the 'pitches' thrown to utley were mistakes?
  14. rich needs to step his game up. burrell is not that nice.
  15. he went to left?
