    that's how you win more games than jason schmidt, makr mulder and sandy koufax combined over the past five years (or whatever it is hendry was spouting). gotta love jim's stats. i'd like to see his staff publish their random statistical findings upon which they base their contractual obligations in a book, similar to baseball prospectus. it'd be funny to see how those types of 'stats' project in his ever so methodical mind.

    actually, pecota had projected his crazy breakout year last year, but he got hurt. funny because this year they didn't like the outlook after his injury, but apparently he is following up on the promise. he is fairly young, so it's not that unusual.

    i want scott eyre eliminated, and zambrano is the man for the job. however, if eyre can get his punches as high in the zone as his fastball, z might be in trouble.
