  1. this is really tedious, but it's nice to see it on tv. they weren't doing a HORRIBLE job. ;) nice work, too, meph.
  2. Hopefully he doesn't have to go to the DL. Stupid hustling, but at least all the jackass sports djs and and baseball know-nithings will be happy. If he was more used to hustling, he wouldn't get hurt every time he actually does hustle. I agree. And usually injuries like these can be caused by not stretching properly or enough before the game. I believe CM was being facetious. this thread was getting WAY hilarious before you bursted the balloon. thanks a lot.
  3. hopefully it isn't serious. he was just now getting healthy and throwing very well.
  4. And give the ball to who? Eyre and Howry? Yeah, they'll keep us in the game. Umm Guzman? Cant do much worse than the damn meatballs getting thrown up there right now. This game is close to being over We're in the 3rd inning. I'd rather save our decent relievers for games we have a chance in. Right now you just have to hope Lilly can eat some innings. it's only four to nothing... we aren't exactly getting blown out. it's obvious that lilly isn't getting people out. bring someone else in and try to get the win against the division leader, who you can gain a game on tonight.
  5. It's not called "walking". It's called "hitting". iirc, technically it's a plate appearance.
  6. i must say, as much as this season has sucked, at least the cubs are keeping it exciting pretty much everyday here lately. kind of excited about this. gallagher should be good.
  7. can't believe he was still available in my pay league when i went to pick him up today.
  8. uh, not so much. I watch them knowing that they stink and will not win. I actually do that with all the teams I root for. Just because I cheer for them to win doesn't mean I'm crazy/dumb enough to believe that they actually will. well, i suppose then, i wonder why a person would invest time into a cause they don't believe in. but you don't have to, you could just continue to make fun of me for the same thing you do.
  9. you're new at this, aren't you? probably no newer than you. they didn't fool me you still post on a message board about cubs, watch the games, and are a fan. so yes, they have.

  11. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070604&content_id=2005726&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc interesting that the only two players quoted both said "as far as i'm concerned," when talking about how they feel in regards to lou. that and jim said he isn't disappointed in any of the players. haha. Bruce Miles pretty much indicated that Hendry was clueless as to this teams problems. can't wait until he's fired. considering payroll, he has to be bottom five gm's in baseball.
  12. well, maybe not shock. i just thought maybe they figured it out after yesterday. i was fooled. again.

  14. i figured if the cubs players really didn't like lou as much as buster olney would have us believe, they would really pour it on when he's gone. you know, maybe it's as simple as a manager really not making a big difference either way. (i understand the +/- 5 game thing)
